Description of Conference: It comes as no surprise that today’s digital era of e-commerce; tel-banking, 3G, internet, intranet and extranets has been a blessing to humankind; Africa has embraced the move with zeal and ignorance, without realizing that the same dynamics and principles of the famous green and industrial revolution which Africa accepted in exchange for the successful scramble for Africa are at play in this digital era.
African institutes and society have set effective physical security of the things that we see and interact with; forgetting that there is a new scramble for Africa,thus,cyber control by foreign governments,corperate competitors,politicians,Hackers,internal and external cyber criminals. This setup has been conducive for cyber crime, cyber propaganda, human rights violation; cyber warfare; high risk business environment, cyber pornography and daily increase in cyber threats against organization and society. Africa has been the most affected due to: Ignorance; lack of know-how, low information security budgets if not none and high international interest over Africa.
