Description of Conference: When OMMA Social last convened in San Francisco in January, the idea that social media would be everywhere was more a concept than a reality. But now, particularly with the launch of Facebook’s truly Open Graph, the opportunity for people and brands to encounter each other all over the Web in a social manner is for real. That move, obviously, has not been without its controversy, as Facebook has had to answer critics who complain that an openly social Web is also an invasion of personal privacy.
But regardless of how that maps out in the end, the social Web and the “traditional” Web are now one. At this OMMA Social, we’ll discuss the impact this new version of the Web is having on marketing and media, and also look at other trends in social that executives need to know about. These include:
* How Twitter’s launch of “Promoted Tweets”, advertiser-sponsored tweets that appear in the tweetstream, is faring in the marketplace.
* The continuing hunt to create viral, earned media, and the latest ways to convert paid media into media that consumers want to share.
* The astronomical growth of mobile social, which gives advertisers the opportunity to finally reach consumers not only with the right message, at the right time, but in the right place.
* How predictive analytics are helping advertisers figure out, early on, how their social media efforts are performing.
In addition, we’ll hear keynotes from:
* Pepsi social media chief Bonin Bough about how the company’s “Refresh Everything” social campaign performed.
* Executives from TurboTax, and its agency, Dailey, on a unique program that curated customer reviews of the service to help match customer needs with individual reviews.
* And Johnson & Johnson’s BabyCenter, which will give details on a new study about Mommy influencers.
All in all, OMMA Social will continue to focus not only on what’s going on with social media now, but how it is impacting marketing and media’s future. We hope to see you there!
OMMA Social is designed to guide marketing and media professionals through the constantly-shifting terrain of social media. This one-day conference will address social marketing challenges and provide insights into how to make social networking work for companies now, and in the future.
