Description of Conference: Under the patronage of H.H. General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Masdar hosted the inaugural World Future Energy Summit "WFES" in Abu Dhabi from January 2008. The highly successful debut edition paved the way for an even larger and better attended World Future Energy Summit 2009, also held in Abu Dhabi. In just two years, WFES witnessed remarkable growth, becoming the worlds foremost gathering for world leaders, policy-makers, researchers, investors, professionals and solution providers involved in renewable energy and environment domain.
Following the decision for the IRENA headquarters to be based in Masdar City, Abu Dhabi; WFES which will be held from 18 to 21 January 2010, promises to be even larger and the most productive to date. Over 100 world class speakers will participate at the Summit headed by Royalty, Head of States, Prime Ministers and Ministers addressing the world most challenging issues and solutions on clean energy and climate change to more than 3000 delegates coming from over 50 developed and developing nations.
The summit includes the World Future Energy and Environment Exhibition, which will be attended by over 600 world leading exhibiting companies and 20,000 participants from more than 50 countries covering a gross space of 40,000sqm at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, showcasing the worlds latest technologies, innovations, solutions and services in Future Energy, Green Buildings, Clean Transport, Water, Waste and Air Pollution
