Description of Conference: The 4th annual E-Conference sponsored by the Neosho (Missouri) Chamber of Commerce and Crowder College. Friday September 25th and Saturday, September 26th. While Neosho is a small town (10,000) it is no stranger to alternative energy. Neosho is home to Crowder College host of this years North American Solar Challenge. Colleges and Universities from Germany, England and Canada as well as the U.S. drove their solar cars from Dallas, Tx. to Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Art Boyt instructor imeritus was responsible for the first solar car to cross the U.S.
Crowder College is the only 2 year college to compete in the Department of Energy Solar decathlon. Their solar house was name Peoples Choice at the 2005 decathlon. Crowder College also has erected a wind turbin that will supply a large portion of the colleges energy needs. Crowder has offered an alternative energy course of study for over 20 years. It is also the designated Missouri Alternative Renewable Energy Technology Center.
