Description of Conference: The 2009 San Diego Day of Trauma will focus on human factor issues in trauma center care and other trauma system domains. Using lessons learned about critical incident and near-miss reporting as well as real life, case based presentations, a team of outstanding faculty will present approaches to recognizing human factors affecting trauma care and offer interventions to improve quality and safety. The highly interactive course will be taught by a multidisciplinary team of health care professionals representing the pre-hospital phase of care, the emergency department experience and the trauma center perspective.
