Description of Conference: The International Society for Cultural History 2010 conference is called "Cultural Histories: Close Readings, Critical Syntheses". It investigates the role of the "grand narratives" and holistic interpretations in cultural history, and invites participants to investigate the challenges involved in combining the various micro and macro levels, and to ask, what are the new viewpoints offered by cultural history in this. Everyone is invited to propose sessions and invidividual papers for the conference; further thematic characterizations can be found in the CFP, and proposals for papers and sessions should be sent in by October 30th.
