Description of Conference: When you're not attending workshops at the "Southeast SG Training Conference," you can experience all the sights, sounds, and flavors of the Big Easy. Head to the French Quarter for a beignet and cafe au lait at the Cafe Du Monde, try on elaborate Carnival masks at a local shop, or tour the Garden District from aboard a St. Charles line streetcar. Sit down to a gourmet meal at one of the city's many fine-dining restaurants, or have a po' boy while enjoying live jazz in a Bourbon Street club.
While you're in town, your delegation can also volunteer to help restore the Gulf Coast's damaged homes and businesses. The numerous agencies and charities working hard to rejuvenate the city can always use a fresh set of hands. You'll bond with members of your SG while providing a valuable (and much appreciated) service.
Any SG leader from any school, no matter what state you're from, is welcome to attend!
The 2010 "Southeast Student Government Training Conference" features:
• Intensive workshops designed to address specific needs and solutions for Student Governments
• Passionate presenters. Some of the most experienced and knowledgeable staff and presenters in the nation to help you get the most out of your term as an SG officer or leader
• Networking opportunities with SG officers and advisors throughout the Southeast and the entire nation
• Workshops and presentations that directly apply to collegiate advisors and administrators
• A keynote address entitled “How Important is Student Government?"
What is the cost?
$139 for ASGA members ($100 off!), and $239 for non-members (Register by December 4, 2009, to get these super-early-bird rates).
What will be the total attendance?
Attendance will be limited to 200 SG leaders and advisors.
What’s included in the registration fee?
The fee includes admission to all workshops and presentations, extensive hand-outs, a lunch, discounts on ASGA membership, leadership books, and on-campus consulting, and private one-hour consultations by appointment only. Dinners, travel and airfare, hotel accommodations, transportation to and from the conference site, and incidentals are not included.
