Description of Conference: The Warwick Economics Department is organizing an ESRC-DFID workshop on "Aspirations and Poverty” to be held at the University of Warwick on Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th, December 2009.
Although some presentations will be made by keynote invited speakers, contributed papers relevant to the topic of “Aspirations and Poverty” are invited to apply. Contributed papers may be in draft version. We expect a good mix of theoretical and applied work. Scholars from disciplines other than economics – e.g. psychology, philosophy, sociology and anthropology – are also welcome to apply. We are evaluating the possibility that the invited papers and a selection of the submitted papers be revised for publication as an edited volume or as a special issue of an established journal.
